Both Ghana's and Nigeria's men 4×100 relay team secured their spot in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Ghana's relay team qualified by winning their heat while Nigeria came second at the World Athletics Relays in the Bahamas. Despite a setback on Day 1 when they both dropped the baton and finished last, the Ghanaian team, comprised of Ibrahim Fuseini, Isaac Botsio, Benjamin Azamati, and Joseph Paul Amoah, redeemed themselves on Day 2.
Their stellar performance at the Thomas A Robinson National Stadium in Nassau not only clinched them first place but also earned them Olympic qualification.
Fuseini of Ghana started off the relay with a time of 10.69 seconds, followed by impressive runs from Botsio (9.13 seconds), Azamati (9.35 seconds), and Amoah (9.12 seconds).
The combined efforts of both Nigeria and Ghana runners propelled both African countries to victory, securing their places at the upcoming Olympics in Paris, France.
